Charlotte Region October Outing to the "Peak to Prosperity Passage"

On Wednesday October 30th, 2024, CNPA - Charlotte Region Member Gerry King will be leading our October Outing to the "Peak to Prosperity Passage" portion of the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina (Website about the Passage).  Gerry will be meeting in the parking lot of the Alston Trailhead located off of SC 213 at 8:15 AM (Google Maps for Alston Trailhead).

Gerry's Comments:

"I've visited this trailhead a couple of times - it's beautiful looking out over the river and the trail through the woods is easy to walk. (The Passage is 10.8 miles in length w/20 converted trestles so you can go as far as you like.) You're likely to see turtles beneath the trestle, small old bldgs. along the way with plenty of wooded areas. You can go off the trail to visit the small town of Peak if you like."
