Default March Meeting Recap

We had a good meeting last night with 34 people in attendance. 3 visitors, our youngest to date, Matthew Silvia, Pam Brown and Helen Whitehair. Helen has since (along with her husband) become the newest members in the Charleston region. We must have made a pretty good impression, she went right home and signed up! Thank you to Larry Lopez for suggesting she sit in and give us a chance. We are happy to have both Helen and her husband, James part of our group.

Kate's presentation of "The Invisible Vignette" brought a lot of oohs and aahs from the group. These quick and simple tips are such valuable pieces of information and Kate presents it in an easy to understand method. Who would have thought that such a quick and simple brush stroke, that looks so subtle in the finished image, would actually have such a dramatic effect. We really appreciate her willingness to share and plan these hints and tips.

Then there's Maria................Maria Rapchick shared with us her favorite place to shoot....The Arthur Ravenel Bridge...Mt. Pleasant's "New Cooper River Bridge". She had some stunning images shot from atop the bridge during her walks. Everything from sunsets to wildlife. There was plenty of talk afterwards of more of us walking the bridge to have a chance at some of those views and opportunities.

Maria also shared with us a little tidbit for show and tell..mainly for the women in the crowd...... a portable, disposable device that allows women to pee standing up wherever and whenever they need to.. a P-Mate found @ www. P-StandingUp.com . All joking aside (and there was plenty) it would be a useful device when out in the field and a restroom is nowhere to be found. Thank you Maria for braving the crowd and showing us this item.

Kenny did a wonderful tour of the new features that Lightroom 4 bring us. The 2 new modules, map and book and the new adjustment tools to help make our editing faster and a smoother process. At half the price of previous versions I suspect we will be having many Lightroom 4 converts.

With all the wonderful images we saw last night shot at previous outings and in "our own backyards" let not forget that it would be a perfect time to update (or create) your gallery page on the CNPA website.
