Default March 10th Outing to Daniel Stowe Bot. Gardens

From: Skeet Biber <skeetb2012@yahoo.com>
Subject: CNPA Midlands Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens March 10 2012

Please plan to attend the Midlands Region outing to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens on Saturday March 10. This is near Charlotte.
If you are planning to go. please reply asap with how many in your party and your cell phone number for if we get lost, car problems, etc.
We will have lunch at a nearby restaurant. Skeet Biber will be the leader.

Edgar Payne, a CNPA Director, offers this information:
The Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens offers many micro as well as broader shooting opportunities. You folks will be there when their Orchid Spectacular is still in progress so there should be more orchids than usual in the conservatory greenhouse.

They do allow tripods and if this warm weather continues there should be more blooming outside in the garden than usual. (Daniel Stowe) Members can get up to 4 additional folks in at 1/2 cost which may be of interest to you. I believe other botanical gardens around the country have reciprocal agreements so it may be wise to check.

I can suggest a wide range of lenses from micro to wide angle, Bring your polarizer as well as possibly reflectors, diffusers and of course your tripod.

I would plan to arrive early when the garden opens for best light and plan to shoot both indoors at their conservatory greenhouse as well as outside.

If you are looking for a good restaurant to dine at after the event I can recommend the Amberjack Seafood Restaurant. It is 4 miles North of the garden entrance on New Hope Road. It will be on your right and it offers lots of dining options.

Please thank Edgar the next time you see him.
I like the idea of being able to photograph inside if there is bad weather.
I will soon get a map and driving directions to you.
If you know of a good nearby restaurant, please let me know.

Midlands Co-coordinator
