Default Re: Jordan Lake Bald Eagle observatory?

Just a quick followup ...

I'm living temporarily in Asheboro while maintaining my home in Raleigh. I make the round trip from Asheboro to Raleigh and back once or twice a week.

Sunday afternoon, just as I started across the HWY 64 causeway westbound, an Osprey carrying a fish flew over the road heading south. No way to photograph it due to safety concerns, but I was able to watch it for a short while as I drove by, so there are Eagles and Ospreys out there.

The first ever Bald Eagle I saw in the wild was at the old platform. The first ever photograph of a Bald Eagle in the wild I took was at that same platform.

I've been out to the new platform a couple of times this summer, and the only large raptor I've seen from it was way out on the lake, so I couldn't tell if it was eagle or osprey, but I have seen several great blue herons fairly close in.

And I got a couple of nice sunset shots.
