Kathy Moran's statement in this bit really sums up the situation, "An injured animal used for education—that’s a wildlife ambassador. An animal kept solely for profit is an exploited animal."

The business of wildlife photography is just that - a business. And like all businesses, people will cheat, exploit, step on toes, back stab, lie, and steal to succeed in that business. Capitalism 101.
I find game farms and zoos despicable. For too long has academia, science, and now photographers tried to wrap themselves in the flag of conservation when it comes to the exploitation of animals.
